The University of California at Davis is considered one of the top veterinary schools in the country. After graduating from here, veterinarians care for a full range of animals, from farm animals like cows, horses, and pigs to common domestics such as dogs and cats, as well as zoo animals such as elephants, zebras, monkeys, and more.
Because of the growing need for accurate, current, and comprehensive information on the care of green iguanas as a pet, we stock what many people consider to be the best book on the subject: Green Iguana-The Ultimate Owner's Manual by James W. Hatfield III.
The book is based in science but is very easy to read and understand. You can quickly find the right answer to a question about iguanas because of the way the book is laid out, with its 9 chapters making the information easier to find, plus helpful sidebars that condense important points into a few lines. It's no wonder that, with 650+ pages of text and weighing nearly 2 1/2 pounds, the book is called the "bible of iguana pet care books" by many people.
One of the things we like best about the book is the more than 100 pages just on troubleshooting the potential medical problems an iguana might face. We also appreciate the scientific line illustrations of internal anatomy and the book's clear, crisp text describing all the internal body parts.
This is a great book, and we're proud to recommend it to our veterinarian students.
